小故事:新加入的球員Tim Raines Jr.，他的老爸Tim Raines Sr.二十年前在Expos打球時看到一位高個子球員，Tim Raines Sr對著他說 "Man, you're one big unit".。從此以後，那位高個子的綽號就叫做"Big Unit"。

挑幾位我比較有興趣的新秀出來介紹(不一定在上面的名單中):


Jarrod Parker:2007年的第一輪。據說擁有選秀會中最好的mechanics。球速最快可達 98 mph。Plus curve，above-average changeup。Comparisons: Scott Kazmir，Tim Lincecum，Roy Oswalt

Max Scherzer:2006年的第一輪。球速最快可達 98 mph，但mechanics有易於受傷的傾向。above-average slider，缺少第三球路。一般認為最終會待在牛棚當closer。

Emilio Bonifacio:速度飛快的二壘手。Comparisons: Luis Castillo。喜歡把球往地上打，然後靠速度上壘，防守也相當好。However，他還需要加強選球和contact，降低被三振率，才有機會取代 Hudson成為響尾蛇的先發二壘手。If not，he would end up being a useful UT。

Gerardo Parra:Emilio Bonifacio的外野版本。

Brooks Brown:2006 年的第一輪補償選秀。強力伸卡球投手，above-average curve，average changup，不太穩定的控球。Sounds like someone who won the 2006 Cy Young Award ???

Wes Roemer:2007年的第一輪補償選秀。身材矮小的sinker/slider pitcher，球速大約在90 mph上下。控球是最大的武器。三振能力很不錯。

Reynaldo Navarro:2007年的第三輪選秀。來自波多黎各。五工具球員。聽說防守很不錯???

Barry Enright:窮人版Wes Roemer。

Matt Torra:2005年Dbacks最失敗的選秀，第一輪補償選秀，選到之後就肩關節唇受傷，到現在還是投不出成績。

Ryan Doherty:7呎2的中鋒...講錯了，是投手。2005年的未選秀FA，現在已經到獨立聯盟打球了。

Wilkin Castillo:打擊普通，防守很好的捕手。除投手之外可以守任何一個位置。若打擊能力提升的話會是 Inge/Werth type。就算沒有，也會是不錯的替補，至少比接過完全比賽的Hammock更有價值。

Phil Avlas:Baseball mogul 2006中很強。

Javier Brito: Good contact and plate discipline，no power。前面有Jackson和D'Antona，所以不會看到他出現在大聯盟。

Jamie D'Antona:Good contact and plate discipline，no power。有可能會在之後被其他隊以規則五選秀選走。

Bill Murphy:在知名的棒球書籍Moneyball有出現過 。

Jason Neighborgall:80分的fastball和curve，0分的control。如果養起來的話可能會是下一個Big Unit，but that is a huge "IF"。

最近小聯盟專家 John Sickels 發表了一系列的Top Prospects回顧文章，趁這個機會來看看過去幾年響尾蛇的頂尖新秀們現在過的如何。


John Patterson:威過一年之後手就爆了。值得一提的是他和Travis Lee都是當時邪惡的響尾蛇用黑暗兵法簽下的（鑽選秀會的規則漏洞）。

Brad Penny: good career 不過時有小傷痛困擾

Abraham Nunez:來打中職了。藝名:亞伯汗

Jack Cust:流浪到奧克蘭後終於找到春天了

Scott Hairston:一個普通的rookie year後就一直受傷...去年轉到教士隊

Lyle Overbay:交易到酒鬼換Sexson，中上等級的1B，現在在多倫多

Chad Tracy:不錯的contact hitter外帶一些power，05年打出career year，之後陷入低潮+受傷，看看明年能不能重返顛峰。
